I'm sorry to hear this. It's not exactly the same, but my late mother-in-law was, at the time I knew her, addicted to opiates, and my husband tells me all of the time that I would have really like the person that she was before the pills. While it's a different situation, it does really open my eyes to the fact that things like this really can change people to be almost unrecognizable, even our own parents. I hope that there is some way that her time can be extended without the expense of that time being extended for someone that is effectively a stranger.
